 Walking or driving scavenger hunt designed for any area with shops and businesses (including malls). Challenges include pictures, find items, a little quiz, a fun and creative project and a final team presentation. |
HOW IT WORKS: You'll need about 2 hours
minimum for this hunt (unless
you remove some challenges). Your group will be divided into teams of up to 10 people. Each team will receive a collection bag (knapsack, duffle bag or even a plastic shopping bag will do) containing a digital camera, their challenge sheet - the hunt itself - and various supplies. They will then embark on the scavenger hunt, taking pictures, obtaining specific items and completing a creative project. All the challenges are worth valuable points and there are some bonus point challenges as well. At the conclusion of the hunt, the teams will prepare an optional final presentation while you “grade” their challenge sheets to find the winners based on point total (award certificates are included with this hunt). THE WINNING TEAM will have had the most fun as a team while collecting the most points.
EXAMPLES: Our Town hunt includes 20 pictures challenges (they'll make GREAT memories of the day), find items (15), a fun and creative
project and a final team presentation (optional). Lots of different types of challenges to complete to keep it interesting, engaging and fun, fun, fun!
- Collect an unusual, clever or creative item.
- Take a picture of 3 of your team members with a construction worker. You
must be in the classic Village People "YMCA" pose.
IMPORTANT: These
hunts are NOT riddle hunts with clues that need to be deciphered to lead
your teams from location to location.

NUMBER OF TEAMS or PARTICIPANTS:Unlimited number of teams with a minimum of 3 or 4 to a maximum of 10 people per team. We do recommend one facilitator/helper for every 2-3 teams to keep things running smoothly, especially when you grade team efforts and tally up completed challenges.
LENGTH OF THE HUNT:2 to 4
hours, depending on the size of your group*: 5 minutes for opening instructions
and team organization; 1 1/2 - 2 hours for the scavenger hunt and about 1/2
hour or more for the grading, (optional) team presentations and awards presentation. *The
more teams you have, the more time it will take.
PRE-HUNT PREP TIME: For up to 6 teams, you can
put our scavenger hunts together in about 4-6 hours (includes shopping for supplies,
reading the scavenger hunt and prepping the materials); as you add teams, you'll
need to add time to the pre-hunt prep. You mostly need to print (and perhaps
edit) the documents included with the kit, pack the collection bags and you'll
need to get team prizes, digital
cameras and other inexpensive supplies like clipboards and pens. Our
